Cinco Jotas 5J Bellota Pata Negra whole boneless ham is produced in Jabugo, Andalusia, by the prestigious Cinco Jotas company, founded in 1879. This region is one of Spain's most renowned for the production of Iberian ham thanks to its climate and dehesa landscapes, which are particularly suited to Iberian pig farming.
Iberian pigs roam freely in the dehesa landscapes of natural pastures and holm oaks. This unique environment promotes extensive farming in keeping with Iberian tradition and contributes directly to the exceptional quality of the meat.
During the montanera, an essential period in Iberian pig farming, the pigs feed mainly on acorns that have fallen from the oak trees and on natural resources found in the pastures. Each pig can consume between 8 and 10 kg of acorns per day. This diet promotes the natural infiltration of fat into the meat and contributes to the melt-in-the-mouth texture and rich aroma of Iberian bellota ham.
Cinco Jotas is recognized worldwide as one of the leading producers of Iberian ham. Thanks to expertise passed down for over a century and a rigorous selection process, the company produces hams renowned for their delicacy and rich aroma.
Presented whole and boneless, this Iberian ham is ideal for cutting with a knife or slicer. This presentation makes it easy to obtain even slices while preserving the melt-in-the-mouth texture and characteristic aromas of pata negra ham.
