These landscapes of natural pastures and oak trees provide an ideal environment for the extensive breeding of Iberian pigs.
Iberian pigs roam freely in the pastures according to the principles of organic farming. This preserved environment guarantees farming that respects animal welfare and the terroir, directly contributing to the quality of the meat.
During the montanera, an essential period in Iberian pig farming, the pigs feed mainly on acorns that have fallen from the oak trees and on natural resources found in the pastures. Each pig can consume between 8 and 10 kg of acorns per day. This exceptional diet promotes the natural infiltration of fat into the meat and contributes to the characteristic aromatic richness of Iberian bellota products.
